Gemma and David saw me at a bridal Show in 2015 and I remember their family commented on our Photography and they liked our style and use of landscape in our Wedding Photographs. I didnt realise they were deciding to have a Destination wedding in New Zealand. I noticed Gemma’s Dad had a strong NZ accent as Iam oriignally from NZ. They all came back again and booked me for their Wedding which was to be in NZ and what amazing fate happened to be my home territory of many years ago.
I was very excited because Gemma being originally from Taranaki wanted to have Mt Taranaki photographed for their wedding in the background of their pictures. I was praying for a sunny day as Mt Taranaki can sometimes be covered in cloud. The day was beautiful and hot in January 2016. The Venue was stunning at Okurukuru Vineyard and Resort just 15 mins out of New Plymouth. Set in the beautiful Farmland of the West coast of the North Island with the beautiful Tasman Sea and surrounded by Green hills vineyards and majestic Mt Taranaki she was showing her fine form that day apart from a little bit of cloud like a shawl covered part of her.
We had alot of fun, and we also went to the local Beach where the sand is pitch black or iron sand. Gemma and David and their Bridal Party were fun to work with we had an amazing time and I managed to find an open paddock off the beaten track to capture the Mountain as I had promised. Wedding Photography to me is a privilege and being so fortunate to travel to different parts of the world to capture Weddings, Portraits, and documentation is the best job in the world to me.
I went back the next day to Gemmas home Farm, we captured more moments with David and Gemma accross from their Family Farm, this was what I wanted to do Taranaki is a special place I call Home.
